6th Meeting of the Energy Working Group

The 6th Meeting of the Sino-German Energy Working Group (WG) was held in Beijing on June 8th 2017 hosted by the National Energy Administration (NEA) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the China National Renewable Energy Center (CNREC).

Representatives of Agora Energiewende, Beijing China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute (CREEI), Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) and State Power Economic Research Institute of State Grid attended the meeting. The past year’s (2016-2017) measures of the Sino-German Energy Partnership in the field of energy were reviewed. Afterwards, three (potential) focus topics for the measures of the bilateral WG in the year 2017-2018 were presented and discussed: a) Sino-German Energy Transition Project, b) Flexibility of Coal-fired Power Plants, and c) Utilization of Renewable Energy for Heating and Cooling.
