On 15 December 2017, the Sino-German Energy Partnership officially launched its demonstration project on “Energy Saving in the Energy-intensive Industry through Energy Diagnosis and Energy Efficiency Measures in China”. The event was co-hosted by the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Department of Energy Policy - Heating and Efficiency of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It was further co-organized by the National Energy Conservation Center (NECC), the German Energy Agency (dena) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The purpose of the event was to select the demonstration companies from the Chinese industry and to discuss project contents and procedures. In the coming months, the selected demonstration companies will receive support and expert consultation on quality assurance and energy diagnosis. The demonstration project is part of the bilateral energy partnership between BMWi and NDRC.
